About this Workshop

This workshop explores shoulder anatomy through interactive exercises that help participants understand the planes of movement and engage specific muscle groups. It also delves into the physiology of injuries, examining the mechanisms of how and why they occur in pole dance and sports. Participants will learn about common shoulder injuries, their prognosis, and potential complications. The session concludes with practical injury prevention techniques, featuring 4-5 exercises to promote shoulder health or 1-2 exercises tailored to specific injuries.

Workshop Host Dr Anna Rybalko

Dr. Anna Rybalko D.C., Bfa, NBS TTP (Dip) Dr. Anna Rybalko is a chiropractor, dancer and dance educator. Her dance journey began with classical ballet training which ignited her love for dance. For almost a decade she performed with a dance entertainment company in the GTA and in the more recent years began her pole dance training. Dr.Anna began teaching dance in high school which led her to pursue a Bfa in dance from York University and a Teaching Diploma from Canada’s National Ballet School. She taught for 15 years in dance studios around the GTA working with dancers of all ages. Her interest in functional dance technique and anatomy has inspired her to go on completing the doctor of chiropractic degree at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr.Anna is passionate about serving the dance and movement community through chiropractic care, advocating for injury prevention and education on safe and functional training.
